The American Humanist Association is promoting an anti-God advertising campaign this Christmas season.  Not only does it demonstrate a lack of belief in God, but it is also an attack on the Gospel.  Click here to view the advertisement.

  1. I caught that on the news and recently typed it up for use in a sermon.Interesting, the ads say: “”Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness’ sake,”Is that possible? If there is no God, there is no good. Who is there to judge right from wrong? What is good based on? Ask this group:–Is it good to protect the life of the unborn?–Is it good to honor marriage?Suddenly values collude. Becuase their values are based on their feelings; what they feel is good. They seem to assume we have some innate ability to know what is right and what is wrong. But the Bible teaches we are “dead” toward God. We cannot know right or wrong without the illumination of the Holy Spirit.Richard Dawkins (the God dillusion) recently addressed a common Christian question: “If there is no God, what would stop me from killing you?” His response was that it is not good for the whole of the species. That’s dangerous thinking.

  2. watch out david, because many times, the “church” does what feels good, instead of what is right. i think this is something all humans struggle with, not just atheists.

  3. Mae, I think you misunderstood their ad and my response. they are not saying “do what feels good” they are saying “be good for goodness sake.” That is: Moral goodness.

  4. well we know the only Goodness that exists.

  5. that’s a good point. To declare “for goodness sake” is to call upon the only One who is “good.”

  6. exactly.for Goodness sake. there is only One Good, only One God.
